About this card
Nineteen team cards cover twenty clubs - Houston has none. Three of them, #303 Indians, #326 Braves and #404 Pirates, were printed with and without a dot between the standings line and the league name in the band at the foot of the front, and both states are tracked here.
The story on this card
Card 463 in the 1966 Topps set is the Philadelphia Phillies team card, part of print series 6. It reports the club's 1965 season, when the Phillies went 85-76 under manager Gene Mauch and finished sixth in the National League, eleven and a half games behind the pennant-winning Dodgers. The front is a full team photo, and the back lists the club's top hitters and pitchers above each pitcher's won-lost record against every rival club. That roster included three future Hall of Famers: third baseman Dick Allen, who hit .302 with 20 home runs and 85 RBIs; right-hander Jim Bunning, who went 19-9 with a 2.60 ERA and 268 strikeouts as the staff ace; and Ferguson Jenkins, a rookie reliever that year who posted a 2-1 record and a 2.19 ERA before later becoming a starter after leaving Philadelphia.

Where SGC registers no separate row for a variation state, its slabs of that card are listed under the base state.
