The sixteen team cards pair a club photo with the previous season's record. Neither 1961 expansion club, the Los Angeles Angels or the new Washington Senators, has one.

The story on this card

Card 373 is the Red Sox team card out of Topps' fifth 1961 series, and it reports a bleak 1960 at Fenway Park: seventh in the American League, 65-89, 32 games behind the pennant-winning Yankees. Billy Jurges was fired on June 7 with Boston in last place, Del Baker filled seven games, and Pinky Higgins, the manager Jurges had replaced, returned on June 14 to finish out the year. Pete Runnels won the batting title at .320. And the roster still carried Ted Williams, who homered in his final at-bat on September 28, the 521st of his career, then sat out the closing trip to Yankee Stadium. Bucky Harris was fired as general manager that same day.
