The story on this card

Card 86 in the 1961 Topps set is the Los Angeles Dodgers team card, part of the first print series. It reports the 1960 season, when Walter Alston's club went 82-72 and finished fourth in the National League, 13 games behind the pennant-winning and eventual World Series champion Pittsburgh Pirates. Home games came at the cavernous Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum. Five future Hall of Famers were on hand: Alston, Don Drysdale, Gil Hodges, Sandy Koufax and Duke Snider. Drysdale went 15-14 with a 2.84 ERA and led the majors with 246 strikeouts; Koufax added 197. Brooklyn holdovers Hodges and Snider were down to part-time duty while younger men carried the club - rookie Frank Howard hit 23 homers and won NL Rookie of the Year, and Maury Wills stole a league-best 50 bases in his first full season.
