1963 Topps #191 3rd Series Checklist: 177-264

About this card
The seven checklist cards (#79, 102, 191, 274, 362, 431, 509) print their own seven blocks - 1-88, 89-176, 177-264, 265-352, 353-429, 430-506 and 507-576 - which do not match the seven print series the cards were actually issued in. Three of them (#102, #431, #509) exist in two catalogued print states.
The story on this card
Card 191 in the 1963 Topps set is a checklist listing the 88 cards of the set's third series, numbers 177 through 264. It belongs to Topps' second print series, and its front lists card numbers and names for collectors to check off as they filled that stretch. Because collectors marked these cards in pencil or pen while sorting their sets, surviving copies in clean, unchecked condition are scarcer than typical common cards, and set builders seek a crisp example to complete their series 3 run. An unmarked, crisp copy of card 191 remains harder to find than an ordinary common.
