1963 Topps #362 5th Series Checklist: 353-429

About this card
The seven checklist cards (#79, 102, 191, 274, 362, 431, 509) print their own seven blocks - 1-88, 89-176, 177-264, 265-352, 353-429, 430-506 and 507-576 - which do not match the seven print series the cards were actually issued in. Three of them (#102, #431, #509) exist in two catalogued print states.
The story on this card
Card 362 is the checklist for the fourth print series, listing cards 353 through 429 of the 576-card 1963 Topps set. It carries no season stats or team assignment of its own; its job was to let a collector cross off cards as a wax-pack run filled in that stretch of the set. The 1963 design reused the panel layout Topps had introduced a decade earlier in its 1953 set, paired with sharp color photography, and the set unfolded across seven such series that year, each capped by its own checklist card like this one. A checklist is never treated as a Hall of Fame card even when the block it covers includes a Cooperstown name.
