The story on this card

Card 202 in the 1963 Topps set is the Boston Red Sox team card, part of the third series, reporting on the club's 1962 season. Under field manager Pinky Higgins, Boston finished eighth in the ten-team American League at 76-84, 19 games behind the pennant-winning New York Yankees, playing its home games at Fenway Park. The roster pictured in the panel included a young Carl Yastrzemski, already the club's left fielder and a future Hall of Famer. The season had bright individual moments despite the standings: Earl Wilson threw a no-hitter against the Los Angeles Angels on June 26, and Bill Monbouquette matched him against the Chicago White Sox on August 1. That October, Higgins moved up to general manager and Johnny Pesky took over as field manager for 1963.
