The story on this card
This 1963 Topps team card reports the Dodgers' 1962 season, their first full year in brand-new Dodger Stadium after four seasons at the Coliseum. Walter Alston's club won a Los Angeles-era-best 102 games and battled the Giants for the lead all summer, only to lose it late and finish tied for first, then fall in a three-game tie-breaker series. The roster pictured included Don Drysdale, who won 25 games that year, and Sandy Koufax, who threw a no-hitter on June 30, along with Duke Snider closing out his career on the West Coast. Card #337 is part of the team-card subset in Topps' fourth series for 1963.
