The story on this card

Card 247 in the 1963 Topps set is the New York Yankees team card, part of print series 3. It reports the 1962 season, when Ralph Houk's Yankees went 96-66, won their 27th American League pennant by five games over the Minnesota Twins, and beat the San Francisco Giants in seven games for the franchise's 20th World Series title, capped by Bobby Richardson snaring Willie McCovey's Game 7 liner with the tying and go-ahead runs on base. The pennant-winning roster carried three Hall of Famers: catcher Yogi Berra, left-hander Whitey Ford, who started and won the Series opener, and center fielder Mickey Mantle, who won his third AL MVP award despite appearing in only 123 games.
