About this card

The seven checklist cards (#76, 102, 188, 274, 362, 438, 517) carry the blocks 1-88, 89-176, 177-264, 265-352, 353-429, 430-506 and 507-587 - none of them a real print series. The print series (1-109 / 110-196 / 197-283 / 284-370 / 371-446 / 447-522 / 523-587) are what decide how hard a card is to find.

The story on this card

Card 362 in the 1964 Topps set is a checklist card, part of the fourth print series, listing cards 353 through 429 under its printed heading, 5th Series, although the fifth print series ran 371-446. Like other checklist cards in the issue, it let collectors track which numbers in that run they still needed, and many surviving copies carry pencil or pen check marks from original owners working through packs as they were opened. Because checklist cards saw the same handling as the numbered cards around them, well-centered, unmarked survivors are harder to find and draw a premium from set builders working on the run.
