The story on this card

This series-1 team card reports the 1963 St. Louis Cardinals, who battled the Los Angeles Dodgers into September before finishing second in the National League at 93-69 under manager Johnny Keane. The club played its home games at Busch Stadium (Sportsman's Park), and its 1963 roster included Hall of Famers Bob Gibson, Stan Musial, and Red Schoendienst, with Musial closing out his playing career that season. The Cardinals' late charge fell just short of catching the Dodgers, but the club came back the following year to win the pennant and the World Series.
