About this card

The seven checklist cards (#34, 101, 183, 279, 363, 444, 517) divide the set into seven numbered blocks (1-88 through 507-598; four of 88 cards, then 77, 77 and 92) that lag the print series: each later checklist was printed with the series before the one it lists, so the "6th Series" checklist #444 is a series-5 card and the "7th Series" #517 a series-6 card. Five of the seven come in two states.

The story on this card

Card 101 in the 1966 Topps set is the second series checklist, listing cards 89 through 176 for collectors sorting through that block of the release. It carries no player photograph, just the numbered roster of names so a set-builder could mark off which cards from the run were still needed. Collectors separate two printings by the line for card #115: the corrected version lists Bill Henry, while the error version misprints the name as Warren Spahn, who has no card of his own at that number. Because it names no single player, the checklist carries no rookie-card status of its own. Card 101 belongs to print series one of the 1966 Topps set.

Where a grader registers a variation separately its population is listed under that variation. Where SGC registers no separate row for a variation state, its slabs of that card are listed under the base state.
