1966 Topps #259 Boston Red Sox
Hall of Famers on the 1965 Boston Red Sox roster: Billy Herman and Carl Yastrzemski.

About this card
Nineteen team cards cover twenty clubs - Houston has none. Three of them, #303 Indians, #326 Braves and #404 Pirates, were printed with and without a dot between the standings line and the league name in the band at the foot of the front, and both states are tracked here.
The story on this card
This team card reports on the 1965 Boston Red Sox, who finished ninth of ten in the American League at 62-100 under player-turned-manager Billy Herman, forty games behind the champion Minnesota Twins. Boston lost seventeen of its eighteen meetings with the pennant-bound Twins that year, a lopsided rivalry record that summed up a rough season at Fenway Park. Herman, a Hall of Fame second baseman in his playing days, and left fielder Carl Yastrzemski, also a future Hall of Famer, both belonged to that club. Card #259 falls in print series three of the 1966 Topps set.

Where SGC registers no separate row for a variation state, its slabs of that card are listed under the base state.
