1966 Topps #59 Cincinnati Reds
Hall of Famers on the 1965 Cincinnati Reds roster: Tony Perez and Frank Robinson.

About this card
Nineteen team cards cover twenty clubs - Houston has none. Three of them, #303 Indians, #326 Braves and #404 Pirates, were printed with and without a dot between the standings line and the league name in the band at the foot of the front, and both states are tracked here.
The story on this card
Card 59 in the 1966 Topps set is the Cincinnati Reds team card, part of the first print series. It reports the 1965 season, in which the Reds went 89-73 under manager Dick Sisler and finished fourth in the National League, eight games behind the pennant-winning Dodgers. Cincinnati led the majors in runs, hits, doubles, triples, RBIs, batting average, on-base percentage and slugging that year, and ranked second in home runs. The roster included future Hall of Famers Tony Perez and Frank Robinson, and the club sent five players to the 1965 All-Star Game: Pete Rose, Robinson, Sammy Ellis, Leo Cardenas and Johnny Edwards. Pitcher Jim Maloney threw a 10-inning no-hitter that season and also lost a no-hit bid in the 11th inning.

Where SGC registers no separate row for a variation state, its slabs of that card are listed under the base state.
