The story on this card
Card 492 is the Pirates team card from Topps' 1967 sixth series, reporting Pittsburgh's 1966 campaign under manager Harry Walker. The club went 92-70 and finished third in the National League, three games behind the pennant-winning Dodgers, playing its home games at Forbes Field. It was the first Pirates team with three 25-homer men, as Roberto Clemente, Willie Stargell and Donn Clendenon all cleared the mark; Clemente won NL MVP with a career-high 29 homers and 119 RBI, Stargell hit .315 with 33 home runs and 102 RBI, and Bill Mazeroski turned a then-record 161 double plays at second base. Clemente, Stargell and Mazeroski, all future Hall of Famers, were on that 1966 roster; the card pairs a posed team photo on the front with the club's 1966 batting and pitching leaders on the back.
