1969 Topps #107 2nd Series Check List: 110-218

About this card
The seven checklist cards (#57, 107, 214, 314, 412, 504, 582) each list one series, and every checklist after the first was printed inside the series before the one it lists - #107 "2nd Series Check List" is a series-1 card. Six of the seven carry an inset photo of a star player, and two of them (#107 and #582) exist in two printing states.
The story on this card
Card 107 is the second of seven series checklists in the 1969 Topps set, listing the 109 cards of the second series, running from card 110, Mike Shannon, through card 218, John Roseboro. Topps shipped it in the same first series as the checklist before it, giving collectors advance notice of the run to come. The 664-card set was the largest Topps had issued to that point, and like most of its companion checklists it wears a small photo of Bob Gibson at the top rather than a single subject's biography, a design touch meant to make an otherwise plain reference card worth pulling from a pack.
