1986-87 Fleer #118 Jay Vincent

About Jay Vincent
A 6'7" forward from Kalamazoo, Michigan, Jay Fletcher Vincent starred at Michigan State, where he teamed with Magic Johnson and Greg Kelser to win the 1979 NCAA championship. The Dallas Mavericks took him in the second round (24th overall) of the 1981 NBA Draft, and he made an immediate mark: he led the expansion Mavericks in scoring at 21.4 points per game as a rookie in 1981-82 and earned unanimous NBA All-Rookie First Team honors. Vincent played nine NBA seasons (1981-1990) for six teams - Dallas, Washington, Denver, San Antonio, Philadelphia, and the Lakers - and averaged 15.2 points and 5.5 rebounds over his career, scoring 8,729 total points. His younger brother, Sam Vincent, was also a longtime NBA guard and later an NBA head coach. This is Vincent's Fleer rookie card, issued during his final Dallas season.
