The story on this card
Card 159 is the Baltimore Orioles team card, a second-series entry in the 1961 Topps set - a plain team photo. It reports 1960, when the Orioles went 89-65 to finish second in the American League, eight games behind the pennant-winning Yankees. That was Baltimore's first winning season since the franchise left St. Louis in 1954, and its first winning record since the 1945 Browns. Paul Richards, the Associated Press AL Manager of the Year, ran a Memorial Stadium club carrying two future Hall of Famers: Brooks Robinson, who took the first of his 16 Gold Gloves at third, and knuckleballer Hoyt Wilhelm. Rookie Chuck Estrada tied for the league lead with 18 wins, and shortstop Ron Hansen was Rookie of the Year.
