The story on this card
Card 334 in the 1962 Topps set is the Boston Red Sox team card, a fourth-series entry framed by the wood grain Topps used that year - a border whose edges chip easily, which is why clean copies stay tough. It reports the 1961 club: 76-86 under Pinky Higgins, sixth in the American League, thirty-three games behind the champion Yankees, and far better at Fenway Park (50-31) than on the road (26-55). This is the roster that handed left field to future Hall of Famer Carl Yastrzemski, heir apparent to the retired Ted Williams; he debuted on Opening Day, April 11, and hit .266 with 11 home runs and 80 RBIs. Wilbur Wood debuted June 30, and on October 1 Tracy Stallard served up Roger Maris' record-breaking 61st home run in the season finale.

Graded population — a scarcity guide, not a price. Data as of 2026-09-04. PSA counts are straight grades only; PSA half grades (PSA 1.5 among them) and qualified slabs are not included. SGC half grades fold down (8.5→8). Slabs of the three cards printed #139 are joined by description, never by number alone. PSA registers the green tints as a separate set; a tint's population is listed under that state of the card it belongs to.
