The story on this card
Card 226 is the San Francisco Giants team card in the 1962 Topps set, a print series 3 card. It reports the 1961 club, third in the National League at 85-69 under first-year manager Alvin Dark, eight games behind the champion Cincinnati Reds. Orlando Cepeda led the league with 46 home runs and 142 RBIs, Willie Mays hit 40 including a four-homer game on April 30, and it remains the only Giants season with two 40-homer men. Cepeda and Willie McCovey shuttled between first base and the outfield; Juan Marichal went 13-10. Candlestick Park, in its second season, hosted the first of that summer's two All-Star Games. Four Hall of Famers on one roster: Cepeda, Marichal, Mays and McCovey.

Graded population — a scarcity guide, not a price. Snapshot 2026-09-24. Half-grades fold down (8.5→8), and PSA's qualified grades are counted separately from the straight-grade rows shown here. Slabs of the three cards printed #139 are joined by description, never by number alone. PSA registers the green tints as a separate set; a tint's population is listed under that state of the card it belongs to.
