About this card
The seven checklist cards (#79, 102, 191, 274, 362, 431, 509) print their own seven blocks - 1-88, 89-176, 177-264, 265-352, 353-429, 430-506 and 507-576 - which do not match the seven print series the cards were actually issued in. Three of them (#102, #431, #509) exist in two catalogued print states.
The story on this card
Card number 102 is the second series checklist, printed as part of the set's first series and listing the numbers 89 through 176 that make up that run of 1963 Topps. Like the other checklist cards scattered through the year's release, its front is the numbered roster collectors used to mark off cards as they filled their sets. Topps printed it in two color states, differing only in the ink used for the checklist text against its background panel. The 1963 set rolled out across seven series and is remembered for its bright, sharp color photography. Card 102 is a checklist card.
Print variations
