The story on this card

This team card reports the Pirates' 1962 season, when Pittsburgh went 93-68 under manager Danny Murtaugh, finishing fourth in the National League, eight games behind the pennant-winning San Francisco Giants. The club opened the year on a 10-0 tear before dropping its first loss to the expansion New York Mets on April 23, then beat the hapless Mets 16 times in 18 meetings that season, playing its home games at Forbes Field. The roster panel facing the team photo lists the men who carried that fourth-place club, headlined by future Hall of Famers Roberto Clemente in right field, Bill Mazeroski at second base, and Willie Stargell as a young outfielder. Card 151, Topps' second series for 1963, is a standard team card.
