The story on this card
Kelley's card comes from a high number in the seventh and final print series, pairing his Rookie Stars debut with fellow Cleveland right-hander Sonny Siebert. It is a recognized rookie card for Kelley, and it arrived the same year he reached the majors: after a 9-9 season with Double-A Charleston, he earned a late-season callup and made six relief appearances for the Indians without a decision. Right-handed pitcher for the Indians and Braves, 1964-1973; threw a Triple-A no-hitter with Portland, then rebuilt from shoulder surgery to help anchor Atlanta's 1971 rotation.
Siebert made his major league debut with the Cleveland Indians in 1964, going 7-9 with a 3.23 ERA across 41 games and 14 starts. This card is a 1964 Topps high number, #552, part of the set's seventh and final print series. It is a multi-player Rookie Stars card that Siebert shares with fellow Cleveland pitcher Tom Kelley, marking his rookie card. Right-hander who threw a no-hitter for Cleveland in 1966 and made two All-Star teams over a 140-win career with the Indians, Red Sox, Rangers, Cardinals, Padres, and Athletics.
