1965 Topps #361 5th Series Checklist: 353-429

About this card
The seven checklist cards (#79, 104, 189, 273, 361, 443, 508) each list one series, and in 1965 the seven checklist ranges are the seven distribution series exactly (#1-88, 89-176, 177-264, 265-352, 353-429, 430-506, 507-598). Two of them, #79 and #508, are the only cards in the set with catalogued variations.
The story on this card
Card 361 is the checklist for the fifth series of the 1965 Topps set, listing the 77 cards numbered 353 through 429. Topps issued the 598-card set in a run of series shipped through the season, sold in both nickel and penny wax packs, and each series carried its own checklist card so collectors could track which numbers remained. The premium in the set sits on the seventh and final series' short prints: the 44 that Beckett counts sit inside numbers 523 through 598. As a checklist, card 361 carries no player photo and no biographical text, its only job the numbered list of the 77 cards in its series.
