The story on this card
Card 267 in the 1965 Topps set is the Washington Senators team card, reporting the 1964 season. Under manager Gil Hodges, the expansion-era Senators finished 62-100, ninth in the American League and 37 games behind the pennant-winning Yankees, playing identical 31-50 records at home and on the road out of D.C. Stadium. Don Lock led the offense with 28 home runs and 80 RBIs, while Claude Osteen was the staff's most productive starter, winning 15 games with a 3.33 ERA. The club had acquired first baseman Bill Skowron from the Dodgers before the season, then traded him to the White Sox that July. Hodges, later a Hall of Fame inductee, managed the roster that year. Card 267 comes from the set's fourth print series.
