1966 Topps #204 Chicago Cubs
Hall of Famers on the 1965 Chicago Cubs roster: Ernie Banks, Ron Santo and Billy Williams.

About this card
Nineteen team cards cover twenty clubs - Houston has none. Three of them, #303 Indians, #326 Braves and #404 Pirates, were printed with and without a dot between the standings line and the league name in the band at the foot of the front, and both states are tracked here.
The story on this card
This team card reports a rough 1965 for the Cubs, who finished eighth in the National League at 72-90. The club still had plenty of star power on the roster, with Ernie Banks, Ron Santo and Billy Williams all logging well over 150 games that season, and Larry Jackson and Dick Ellsworth anchoring the starting rotation. The defense turned in an odd bit of history along the way, tying the major league record for triple plays in a season with three, each one coming behind pitcher Bill Faul. Part of Topps' third series in the 1966 set, this card gathers the full 1965 Cubs squad for a single group shot rather than spotlighting any one player, the kind of card collectors chase as a set-completion piece and for the three future Hall of Famers on its roster.

Graded population — a scarcity guide, not a price. Data as of 2026-09-04. Half grades fold down for both graders (8.5→8); PSA qualified slabs (OC, ST, PD, MC and the like) are not counted. Where SGC registers no separate row for a variation state, its slabs of that card are listed under the base state.
