1968 Topps #454 6th Series Checklist 458-533
Pictures Frank Robinson; separated into two print states by whether his neck chain shows.
About this card
The seven checklist cards (#67, 107, 192, 278, 356, 454, 518) each carry a player portrait in a circle beside the series title - Jim Kaat, Juan Marichal, Carl Yastrzemski, Orlando Cepeda, Ken Holtzman, Frank Robinson and Clete Boyer in order. Six of the seven exist in two states; #67 is the only checklist without a variation.
The story on this card
Card 454 is the sixth-series checklist, listing cards 458 through 533; Topps printed it a series early, in the fifth series. The front pictures Frank Robinson, fresh off a big year for the Orioles: in 1967 he hit .311 with 30 home runs and 94 RBIs, both team highs, as Baltimore slipped to sixth place in the American League. Collectors separate the checklist into two print states by how his neck chain appears, giving the card its own small collecting puzzle apart from the list of card numbers on back. Because it doubles as both a set-building tool and a Robinson card, it draws interest from checklist collectors and Robinson collectors alike, and clean, unchecked copies are tougher to find than the print run alone would suggest.

Graded population — a scarcity guide, not a price. Data as of 2026-09-04. Half grades fold down for both graders (8.5→8); PSA qualified slabs (OC, ST, PD, MC and the like) are not counted. Where a grader registers a variation separately its population is listed under that variation; PSA slabs whose label names no variation are listed as not designated, while SGC slabs whose label names no variation are counted under 454a - Neck Chain Shows. Slabs of the yellow team-letter #49 and #66 are 1968 Milton Bradley game cards and are not counted here.

Owning any one of them fills the #454 slot; the master set counts each state.

598 cards, tracked as 606 collectible states. The numbers run from 1 to 598 without a gap and no printed number carries two different cards; eight cards - six of the seven checklists, #10 AL Pitching Leaders and #400 Mike McCormick - carry a catalogued print variation that the master set counts separately.
