About this card

This is one of the seven checklist cards (#9, #128, #244, #343, #432, #542 and #588), and they follow the seven series exactly: #9 lists the first series, and each of the other six, printed in the series before, lists the next one, from #128 (#133-263) to #588 (#634-720). Those six each come in two states - #128 and #588 a correction on one checklist line, #244, #343 and #542 the color of the bat on the front, and #432 the color of "Baseball" on the front.

The story on this card

Card #128 in the 1970 Topps set is a checklist in the first series, #1-132, that lists the cards of the second series, #133-263. Two printings exist. One prints the line for card #226 as "R Perranoski" without a period, and the other prints "R. Perranoski" with the period; card #226 itself is Ron Perranoski. Collectors separate the two as a master-set variation. Checklist #588, which covers the seventh series, #634-720, also comes in two printings: one lists the misspelled "Adolpho" Phillips at #666, and the other corrects it to "Adolfo".
