About this card

This is one of the seven checklist cards (#9, #128, #244, #343, #432, #542 and #588), and they follow the seven series exactly: #9 lists the first series, and each of the other six, printed in the series before, lists the next one, from #128 (#133-263) to #588 (#634-720). Those six each come in two states - #128 and #588 a correction on one checklist line, #244, #343 and #542 the color of the bat on the front, and #432 the color of "Baseball" on the front.

The story on this card

Checklist #343 was printed in the third series of 1970 Topps, in the run that ends at #372, but it lists the fourth series, #373-459. Those cards run from Roy White at #373 through Jim Palmer at #449, followed by the All-Star cards at #450-459. Collectors separate two printings of #343, distinguished by the bat on the front: red in one, brown in the other. Master-set collectors need both. Checklists #244 and #542 carry the same bat-color split, while #432 differs in baseball color and #128 and #588 in a corrected name.
