The story on this card

California rebounded from 71-91 in 1969 to 86-76 in 1970, matching its best record to that point, and held a winning record every day from Opening Day on. Clyde Wright threw a no-hitter against the Athletics on July 3 and won 22 games, a franchise record. Alex Johnson won the batting title on the last day, going 2 for 3 against the White Sox to edge Carl Yastrzemski by .0004. By September 3 the Angels trailed Minnesota by three games. They were swept by the Twins in Anaheim, went 5-17 from September 4 to September 26, and finished third in the American League West. Lefty Phillips managed. This is the Angels team card, #442, printed in the fourth series.
