The story on this card
Checklist #5 of the 1974 Topps set lists #529 through #660, running from Horace Clarke to Larry Dierker. Inside that range sit Rich Gossage (#542), Steve Garvey (#575), the Ralph Houk manager card (#578), Bucky Dent (#582), the Rookie Prospects cards (#596-608), George Foster (#646) and Juan Beniquez (#647). Three printing variations also fall in this range. The Padres Rookie Prospects card, #599, exists in large and small San Diego print and in a version printed Washington Nat'l Lea. Card #608 has a version with the front misspelling Apodaco and a corrected Apodaca, and #654 Jesus Alou has a version with no position on the front. The other four checklists are #126, #263, #273 and #414.
