The story on this card
The 1975 Reds went 108-54 and finished 20 games ahead of the Los Angeles Dodgers in the National League West, the best record in the majors. Cincinnati clinched on September 7, the earliest clinch of any team in a 162-game season, and went 64-17 at Riverfront Stadium, still the best home record by a National League club. Joe Morgan was the National League's Most Valuable Player, Johnny Bench drove in 110 runs and Tony Perez 109, and Sparky Anderson, pictured in the inset on the front, managed the club. The Reds swept Pittsburgh in three games in the NLCS, then beat Boston in seven games in the World Series, Cincinnati's first title since 1940. Card #462 in the same set is the Reds World Series card.
