The story on this card
Texas finished 1975 at 79-83, third in the American League West, in the fourth season the franchise played at Arlington Stadium. The club changed managers during the season: Billy Martin went 44-51 and was replaced by Frank Lucchesi, who went 35-32 and is the manager pictured in the inset on the front of card #172. The Rangers scored 714 runs and allowed 733, and they hit a major league-leading five grand slams. Home attendance at Arlington Stadium totaled 1,127,924. The roster carried two future Hall of Fame pitchers: Fergie Jenkins, who led the staff with 17 wins, and Gaylord Perry, who joined from Cleveland in a June trade and went 12-8 for Texas.
