The story on this card

Kansas City won its first division title in 1976, finishing 90-72 atop the American League West, 2 1/2 games ahead of Oakland, in Whitey Herzog's first full season as manager. George Brett hit .333 to become the first Royals player to win a league batting title. Royals Stadium drew 1,680,265 that summer, and the club scored 713 runs while allowing 611. The ALCS against the New York Yankees opened at Royals Stadium on October 9 and ran the full five games, with the Yankees taking it 3-2. In Game 5 at Yankee Stadium, the Royals rallied from 6-3 down with three runs in the eighth, but Chris Chambliss won it 7-6 with a ninth-inning home run off Mark Littell.
