The story on this card

Rod Carew chased a .400 batting average through the 1977 season. On June 26, 46,463 came to Metropolitan Stadium and watched him go 4 for 5 with six RBI. That lifted his average to .403. He finished at .388 with 239 hits and 128 runs, won his sixth batting title and took the American League MVP award. Larry Hisle hit 28 home runs and led the league with 119 RBI. Lyman Bostock hit .338, and Dave Goltz won 20 games for the first time. The Twins went 84-77 under Gene Mauch, fourth in the AL West, and drew 1,162,727, their first crowd total above a million since 1970.
