The story on this card

The Mariners played their first game on April 6, 1977, losing 7-0 to the California Angels before 57,762 at the Kingdome, and finished 64-98 under Darrell Johnson, sixth in the American League West. They ended 38 games behind the Kansas City Royals and just ahead of last-place Oakland. Leroy Stanton hit 27 home runs, Ruppert Jones hit 24 and was the club's lone All-Star, and Dan Meyer added 22. Glenn Abbott went 12-13, and Enrique Romo posted a 2.83 ERA with 16 saves. The team scored 624 runs and allowed 855, and the Kingdome drew 1,338,511.
