About Bill Clymer
Born December 18, 1873 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania (d. 1936), Bill Clymer was a shortstop who appeared in three games for the 1891 Philadelphia Athletics but became one of the most successful minor-league managers of his era, winning more than 2,000 games over roughly three decades (1898-1932), including a stint managing the Columbus Senators.
