The story on this card
Card 308 in the 1961 Topps World Series subset revisits Game 3 of the 1960 Fall Classic, October 8 at Yankee Stadium, where Whitey Ford spun a four-hit shutout and New York buried Pittsburgh 10-0. The first inning settled it: Bill Skowron and Elston Howard singled in runs, a walk kept the bases loaded, and Bobby Richardson drove a Clem Labine pitch over the left-field fence for a grand slam, scoring Skowron, Gil McDougald and Howard for a 6-0 lead. Richardson added a two-run single in the four-run fourth for six RBI, this from a man with one home run all regular season. He closed the Series with a record 12 RBI and the MVP award, the only one ever given to a player on the losing team. Print series 4 card.
