The story on this card
Card 310 in the 1961 Topps World Series subset replays Game 5 of the 1960 Fall Classic, October 10 at Yankee Stadium, Series tied two games apiece. Art Ditmar, chased early in Game 1, again failed to finish the second: Gil McDougald dropped Kubek's throw at third, letting Gino Cimoli score, and Bill Mazeroski's two-run double made it 3-0. Roberto Clemente singled home Dick Groat in the third; Roger Maris answered with a solo homer off Harvey Haddix. Haddix carried a 4-2 lead into the seventh, when Roy Face, pictured on the front, relieved with one out and two aboard and threw 2 2/3 hitless innings. Don Hoak's ninth-inning single capped the 5-2 win and a 3-2 Series lead. Face's third save of the Series was a Fall Classic first.
