The story on this card

The 1961 Topps World Series subset recaps the 1960 Fall Classic between the Pittsburgh Pirates and New York Yankees, and card 312 covers Game 7 at Forbes Field on October 13, 1960. Pittsburgh led 9-7 after Hal Smith's three-run homer in the eighth, but New York tied it 9-9 in the top of the ninth. Ralph Terry came back out for the bottom half, and the first man he faced, Pirates second baseman Bill Mazeroski, drove a 1-0 pitch over the left-field wall for a 10-9 win, the first World Series ever to end on a home run and Pittsburgh's first title since 1925. The Yankees had outscored the Pirates 55-27 across the seven games and still lost. The card comes from Topps' fourth series for 1961.
