About this card

The seven checklist cards (#22, 98, 192, 277, 367, 441, 516) list the set in 88-card blocks - 1-88, 89-176, 177-264, 265-352, 353-429, 430-506, 507-598 - that lag the real print series, which is why the high numbers are sometimes wrongly said to start at #507. Four of them exist in more than one state: #22 with a correct or an error back, #192 with and without a comma (and tinted), #441 in large or small print and #516 with white or yellow boxes.

The story on this card

Card 441 is the sixth checklist in the 598-card 1962 Topps set, headed on the front as the sixth-series list and covering card numbers 430 through 506. It was issued in the fifth print series, 371 through 446, so the list runs past its own series and into the sixth. 1962's scarce run is the seventh series, 523 through 598. Collectors separate two printings: on the large-print card the word CHECKLIST is bigger, the 6th Series Topps Baseball line is bolder, and the numbers and names carry heavier ink, while the small-print card reads lighter throughout. The pair is a real set-building hurdle, because an unmarked checklist with clean wood-grain edges is far scarcer than its pack-filler role suggests.

Print variations

Two states of #441 are tracked individually: 441a - Large Print and 441b - Small Print. The difference is on the front of the card (print size).

States catalogued by the PSA master set registry; each is tracked here individually.

Graded population — a scarcity guide, not a price. Snapshot 2026-09-24. Half-grades fold down (8.5→8), and PSA's qualified grades are counted separately from the straight-grade rows shown here. Where a grader registers a variation separately its population is listed under that variation; slabs whose label names no variation are listed as not designated. Slabs of the three cards printed #139 are joined by description, never by number alone. PSA registers the green tints as a separate set; a tint's population is listed under that state of the card it belongs to.
