The story on this card

Card 182 in the 1964 Topps set pairs two Red Sox products of Boston's search for its post-Ted Williams core, both Long Islanders who broke in together in 1961: Carl Yastrzemski and Chuck Schilling. Yastrzemski arrived off his first American League batting title, a .321 mark in 1963 that also brought his first Gold Glove in left field. Schilling, the slick-fielding second baseman who led all AL second basemen in fielding percentage as a 1961 rookie and won the Red Sox team MVP award that year, was coming off a .234 season as Boston's regular at the position, his bat still hampered by the broken hand he suffered in 1962. The two had come up together through the Minneapolis Millers and roomed on the road, the bond behind pairing them as the club's rising building blocks.

Carl Yastrzemski, 'Yaz,' gave Boston all 23 of his seasons, following Ted Williams in left field. He won the 1967 Triple Crown and MVP, three batting titles, seven Gold Gloves and 18 All-Star nods, and reached Cooperstown on the first ballot in 1989. Chuck Schilling - Slick-fielding Red Sox second baseman who came up with Carl Yastrzemski in 1961 and had a dazzling rookie year, then never hit the same after a pitch broke his hand; all five of his big-league seasons were spent in Boston.
