The story on this card

This team card reports a heartbreak season. Minnesota went 91-71 in 1967, tied for second with Detroit, one game behind Boston, after entering the final day of the schedule tied for first with the Red Sox. A loss at Fenway on that last day, 5-3, ended the pennant bid. The 1967 roster included four future Hall of Famers: Harmon Killebrew, who led the club with 44 homers and 113 RBIs; Tony Oliva, who added 17 homers and 83 RBIs; Rod Carew, the American League Rookie of the Year at .292; and Jim Kaat, who won his sixth Gold Glove that year. Card #137 falls in the set's second print series.
