The story on this card
The Milwaukee Brewers of 1972 went 65-91 and finished sixth in the American League East, 21 games behind the Detroit Tigers, in the club's third season in Milwaukee. Three men managed the team: Dave Bristol until May 27, Roy McMillan on May 28 and 29, and Del Crandall from May 30 to the end of the year. An October 1971 trade that sent Marty Pattin, Lew Krausse and Tommy Harper to Boston had brought in Jim Lonborg, Ken Brett, George Scott, Billy Conigliaro, Joe Lahoud and Don Pavletich. Scott drove in 88 runs, Johnny Briggs hit 21 home runs, and Lonborg won 14 games. Jerry Bell posted a 1.66 ERA over 70 2/3 innings, and the club drew 600,440 fans to County Stadium. This is the Brewers team card, #127, from the first series.
