The story on this card
Montreal ended 1975, the seventh season in the history of the franchise, in last place in the National League East at 75-87, 17 1/2 games behind the Pittsburgh Pirates. Gene Mauch managed the club all season, yet the inset on the front of card #216 shows Karl Kuehl rather than Mauch. The Expos played at Jarry Park, drawing 908,292, and held spring training at City Island Ball Park in Daytona Beach, Florida, their third season there. They scored 601 runs and allowed 690, with a 3.72 team ERA. Gary Carter, a future Hall of Famer, hit .270 with 17 home runs as a rookie and was named to the All-Star team.
