The story on this card
Card #74 is the first of the six checklists in the 1978 Topps set and covers cards 1 through 121. That range opens with the seven Record Breakers cards: Lou Brock, Sparky Lyle, Willie McCovey, Brooks Robinson, Pete Rose, Nolan Ryan and Reggie Jackson. It also takes in Eddie Murray's rookie card at #36, Andre Dawson at #72, George Brett at #100 and Gary Carter at #120. The 1978 Burger King team sets (Astros, Rangers, Tigers, Yankees) copy this design, so a low-numbered card of one of those clubs may be a Burger King card rather than a regular Topps card. The numbering differs between the two issues: Art Howe is #13 in Topps and #16 in the Burger King Astros set, while Bump Wills is #23 in Topps and #12 in the Burger King Rangers set.
