The story on this card

Houston went 81-81 under Bill Virdon in 1977, one win better than 1976, finishing third in the National League West, 17 games behind the pennant-winning Dodgers. The Astrodome club led the National League in triples and, with 187 steals, ranked second to Pittsburgh. Cesar Cedeno stole 61 bases, a club record, with Jose Cruz at 44 and Enos Cabell at 42. Bob Watson drove in a club-record 110 runs and hit for the cycle on June 24, the first man to do it in both leagues. J. R. Richard struck out 214 for the second straight year. Cedeno hit safely in 22 straight games from August 25, a club mark, and batted .417 in September and October. Topps #112 is the Astros team card.
