About Zack Wheat
Born 1888 in Hamilton, MO (d. 1972), Zack Wheat was a left-handed outfielder who debuted in 1909 and played 19 major-league seasons. He batted .317 with 2,884 hits, 132 home runs, and 205 stolen bases in 2,410 games. He was elected to the Baseball Hall of Fame in 1959. After 18 seasons in Brooklyn, he remains the Dodgers' all-time franchise leader in hits, doubles, triples, and total bases.
