About this card

It is one of the set's star key cards. 1961-62 Fleer was Fleer's only major NBA issue between the 1957-58 Topps set and the 1969-70 Topps era - 66 cards split into 44 Portrait cards (#1-44) and 22 In Action cards (#45-66), every one single-printed with no short prints.
About Bob Cousy
Robert "Bob" Cousy starred at the College of the Holy Cross, earning three-time All-America honors, before entering the 1950 NBA Draft. After the franchise that acquired his rights folded, a famous dispersal draw landed him with the Boston Celtics. The 6-foot-1 point guard spent 13 seasons in Boston (1950–63) and briefly returned with the Cincinnati Royals in 1969-70. Regarded as the NBA's first great point guard, Cousy was a 13-time All-Star, 12-time All-NBA pick, and the 1957 league MVP, and he led the NBA in assists for eight straight seasons (1953–60). He anchored the early Celtics dynasty to six championships and averaged 18.4 points and 7.5 assists per game. Nicknamed the "Houdini of the Hardwood" by sportswriters for his razzle-dazzle ball-handling, Cousy was enshrined in the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame in 1971. On this 1961-62 Fleer card he appears as a veteran star and the era's premier playmaker.
