The story on this card
Card 141, Twilight Years, carries Ruth with the Boston Braves in the 1962 set's second series. Released by the Yankees in February 1935, he signed with the Braves at 40. He homered off Giants ace Carl Hubbell, a future Hall of Famer, in the April 16 opener at Braves Field, then sank to .153 through May 24. The next day at Forbes Field he hit career home runs 712, 713 and 714 and drove in six; the last cleared that park's right-field roof, a first in its 26 years. Five hitless games followed, the last on May 30, and he retired in early June at .181 with six homers in 28 games. Two states exist: green tint and no green tint.
Babe Ruth was baseball's original superstar, a Red Sox pitching ace turned Yankees slugger who led the American League in home runs twelve times, hit 60 in 1927 for Murderers' Row, and won the 1923 Most Valuable Player award.

Graded population — a scarcity guide, not a price. Snapshot 2026-09-24. Half-grades fold down (8.5→8), and PSA's qualified grades are counted separately from the straight-grade rows shown here. Where a grader registers a variation separately its population is listed under that variation. Slabs of the three cards printed #139 are joined by description, never by number alone. PSA registers the green tints as a separate set; a tint's population is listed under that state of the card it belongs to.
