1962 Topps #37 Tribe Hill Trio
On this card: Barry Latman, Dick Stigman, Jim Perry

About this card
This is one of the eleven combo cards in the set, each pairing two or three players under a headline rather than giving one man his own card - Managers' Dream (#18, Mantle and Mays), AL & NL Homer Kings (#401, Maris and Cepeda) and Rival League Relief Aces (#423, Face and Wilhelm) among them.
The story on this card
Topps liked to group a club's pitchers on one card, and "Tribe Hill Trio" does the job in three words: Tribe was Cleveland's nickname, the hill is the pitching mound, and the trio is Jim Perry, Dick Stigman and Barry Latman. All three worked for the 1961 Indians, who went 78-83 and finished fifth in the newly expanded ten-team American League. Perry and Latman both made that summer's All-Star squad, Perry as a reserve in the first game and Latman in the second, back when two were played each year. One wrinkle collectors enjoy: Cleveland sent Stigman to Minnesota on April 2, 1962, so he was gone before the season opened. Number 37 belongs to the first print series.
Barry Latman was a Los Angeles-born right-hander who spent eleven seasons with the White Sox, Indians, Angels and Astros, nicknamed 'Shoulders' for his build, an All-Star for Cleveland in 1961 and 59-68 with a 3.91 ERA for his career. Dick Stigman - Small-town Minnesota left-hander who pitched seven big-league seasons for Cleveland, Minnesota and Boston, won 12 games for the surprising 1962 Twins and 15 more in 1963, and finished with a 46-54 record and 755 strikeouts. Jim Perry, older brother of Hall of Famer Gaylord Perry, pitched 17 big-league seasons for Cleveland, Minnesota, Detroit, and Oakland, winning 215 games. A swingman for years, he broke through as a full-time starter and won the 1970 AL Cy Young Award.

Graded population — a scarcity guide, not a price. Snapshot 2026-09-24. Half-grades fold down (8.5→8), and PSA's qualified grades are counted separately from the straight-grade rows shown here. Slabs of the three cards printed #139 are joined by description, never by number alone. PSA registers the green tints as a separate set; a tint's population is listed under that state of the card it belongs to.
